We’re working to make West Tennessee great!
The Jackson Sun doesn't just cover our community; we're a part of it. That's why we believe the role of The Jackson Sun involves more than reporting the news. From raising funds that help those in need in our community to sponsoring local events, our commitment is to improve areas where we live and work. In 2014, The Jackson Sun has worked in partnership with more than 40 different local organizations to support fundraising efforts aimed at making West Tennessee a better place to live and work. We do this through three main channels:
Brighter Christmas Fund: For more than 40 years, The Jackson Sun has been making the holiday season happier by collecting food, clothing, toys and money for families in need in our community.
Make A Difference Day: Millions of people and many businesses come together on the fourth Saturday in October to participate in Make A Difference Day. It is the largest national day of helping others and is sponsored by Gannett’s USA WEEKEND and its carrier newspapers, including The Jackson Sun. Each year, Jackson Sun employees and their family members volunteer on a common initiative to help our neighbors in need.
Gannett Foundation: A philanthropic foundation sponsored by Gannett, the Gannett Foundation supports non-profit activities in West Tennessee and other communities in which Gannett does business.
